Missing

Lex has had a few teeth that are loose. He hasn't wiggled them too much until recently. He has let me give them a few hard tugs and they have gradually gotten looser. So the other day he wanted me to yank again. He's so cute because he willingly lets me grab it and pull and he doesn't make a sound. So I pulled it twice and he still wanted me to give it another pull, so I did. It came out in my hand, but I didn't let him know ( like with Paris) and he walked away and started talking and laughing with Paris, as Jon and I exchanged glances so that he knew I had it. Then I said to Lex,
"Hey, come here let me pull it one more time"
he was a little hesitant,
"that last one hurt a little bit, but okay"
so he came back over, and I said,
"know why it hurt? 'cause I got it!"
 He was shocked and then really excited. He has been waiting a long time for the tooth fairly to pay HIM a visit. And he wasn't disappointed when he woke up the next morning.  Now he is waiting for the other bottom tooth to get a little bit more wiggly!!

 

March Madness

No not basketball!! Although BYU was in the
sweet 16 so it was big, big news around here for a while.
No I mean Lindsey Madness in March. The month
wasn't very picture friendly. Or at least the pictures
of the fruits of this month won't be posted just yet.
We spent a lot of free time working on the building
and redecorating/organizing of kids rooms.

*Jon has been excited to use my camera for the short
movie he has to film in a class. He is the camera man
because, I don't trust any of the other kids with our
investment. Anyway, they decided to also use our
house for some of the filming.  From what I've seen
the camera and the camera man are doing a great job.
Apparently the director isn't as organized as the group
would like, so filming isn't quite done yet then they
have to edit. I will post the video when I can.

*Paris had a cute little program called A Day in the
Life of a First Grader. She was super excited for this
program and didn't want us to hear (even though she
would always sing them) any of the songs. She was
also excited because the program was on St. Patty's
day and she was excited to wear green. She did so
good singing her little heart out. I of course messed
up and didn't charge the video camera battery, and
then with what little I had I recorded the floor and
had the cam on pause when I thought I was filming.
You'd think I didn't have a brain!!
Anyway, it was really cute.

Jon likes to cook green eggs and ham for breakfast
and corned beef and cabbage for dinner on St Patty's day.
Kurt's birthday is the day before St P day, but he was with
friends so we had the family over on the 17th to celebrate.
Always a good time!

*Winter is such a character. Her vocabulary is growing
everyday. We left sign language in the dust a few months
ago, and she is now able to use words to communicate.
She is also able to get up on anything her little heart desires,
mostly the table.

Although we love that she is so curious 

and strong willed, we have to make sure 

we keep the table and counter top cleared. 

We can't hide the chairs and stools and her 

high chair and she pushes them to where 

ever it is she wants to get up. I figure if 

there was a way to hide the chairs, she 

would figure out how to get on the table 

anyway.  The other day I went into Evey's 

room and she was 3 feet off the ground 

climbing a bookshelf. She loves to make 

the monkey noise and pound her chest, 

and she loves bananas or "nana" as she 

calls them, so I figure I was right, 

she's a monkey!!

She also loves to show her belly button 

and says "Belly Buh" when you ask her 

where it is. She was in the process of 

showing me her belly buh in the picture 

above, but got distracted by something.

I don't think I posted how big she was at her year appt.
2 months ago now...she was 18lbs 14 oz and 29 1/2 inches.
I figure she hasn't gained too much weight since then with
all of her running around and wiggling, but I can tell she
has grown taller, some of her 12 month pant legs and shirt
sleeves are getting a little short.  We also had a few firsts
recently. She was hating sleeping in her crib a few months
back, so just before her birthday we converted the crib into
a toddler bed, this helped she loved that she could get in and
out on her own. And that first night actually got really mad
when we gave her a little push to help her climb in. She had
to get back down and do it all by herself. At the last second
Lex put his hand under her foot to give her a little leverage.
No Way! She had to get down again and do it ALL by herself.
This is Paris all over again!! We even called Paris self for a
while because Everything had to be done "self." Anyway,
back to Winter. We have since moved her into a big girl bed.
After daddy finished building it, we went out and bought a
mattress and as soon as we put it on the bed, she got so happy
and jumped on to it. That night, she was so excited to go get
in HER bed. She crawled right in and went right to sleep.
It was amazing, because usually I hold her to go to sleep.
I love that she absolutely knew that she was getting
something new and special.

These pictures are in the middle of redecoration,
so that's why the walls are two tone.

I have been showing Winter the potty for a while now.
She thinks it's fun to sit on, and I think she is getting
that that is where we go potty, but she'll tell me she has
a dirty diaper and then run to the bathroom for me to
change her.  But recently I put her on the potty just
before her bath and she went, yay. Then after the bath
she went some more, ...THEN a few days later just
before bath she went AGAIN. Love it! Now I just
have to get my butt in gear and take her every few
minutes until she gets it. I'm super excited, but not
ready just yet, although I am running low on diapers
and wipies right now...hmmm.
I have pictures of her on the potty, but it's just before
bath and so she's a little nude, and I'm just not going
to put those on the internet. But she's dang cute!
Her hair is growing so fast right now, and it is staying
red, yay! So I got it into her first ponytail.
She's so stinkin' cutie!

Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

Bwah- ha-ha-ha!
I fooled you with the title, huh?!
You thought this was going to be about snow....

Well, so sorry! We did get a little bit a week or so ago,
nothing note worthy though.
No, this post is about my little ball of energy.
She has been walking short distances for a week or so
now and every time I get out a camera, I can't set up
fast enough for her and she's on me attacking the camera
to see the baby (her cuteness). So, this is all I have for now.
I'm sure soon enough she'll be running everywhere and we'll
get a good video. We're just a TINY bit concerned for the life
of our future Christmas tree, ornaments and presents!!

Winter-saurus

First off I have to apologize for the messed up formatting
of some of the pictures. I know it's  hard to read in some
parts. I updated to the "new " formatting, and I haven't taken
the time to figure out how to manipulate to my liking.            

ANYWAY,
Since I haven't updated on Winter in a while, I have some filling
in to do.  She is 9 months as of the 18th and as spunky as ever!
She is NON. STOP. and into absolutely everything.

Her stats at 9 months are:
28 1/2 inches!!!  75-90 percentile! Who's kid is she????
17lb 5 1/2 oz  25%  Tall and skinny  And oh so cute!

A list of just a few new things since her last update:
*3 new teeth and one one it's way (5 teeth total)
*She's been crusin' around everything since about 6 months
*at 7 she started waving and clapping
*she also started saying mama and baby around 7 months too.
I know they start babbling around this time, but she actually calls
me. She would crawl over, stand up, reach her arms up and say
"mamama" and when she calls me from her crib it's more like
"maaaahhh" in a really deep voice

She also LOVES babies and so every time she sees one
(on a picture in the store, in a book, at church) she squeals
and says " baba" Then she'll  say it over and over and it
turns in to "mah-ba" But she is consistent, so that's why
I say she is actually saying the words and not just babbling.
But, We're not considering those her "First Words" yet either

Last month or so she started calling her siblings, not their
names, but she has a very distinct voice to
call them and they each have their own syllables. Lex is a
very low pitch like when she calls me from her crib except
she doesn't say maahh it's just a short "uhh". Evey and
Paris are pretty much the same except she kinda adds another
syllable, "uhh-uh" And when we say their names to her
(to help her call them), she looks at or for each of them. She
also has a special noise for the kitty, it a high pitch "ehhh."
I always tell her " kitty , meow" I think she is kind of mimicing
 that. I love that she can recognize all of her family, and she has
known her own name for a long time now too. We just have to
say in once and she either looks at us, or if she's getting into
something, she'll do a little squeak and hide or start crawling
away.  We love to sit around the dinner table and say a name
and she'll look at that person. Too fun!!

*She has figured out how to crawl up onto things. She'll pull
out a toy basket and knock it over and use it as a step and get
on the coffee table or couch ( which is scary. She's learning to
get down right, but she's not there yet, so we have to watch her
closely!) She is also pretty good at stairs.

She is so fast and quiet when she is getting into something, and
it's in those quiet seconds that I know I need to go find her.
Sometimes she's in the pantry (if someone didn't close the door,
grrr) sometimes she's at the dog water (her super favorite!!
Water is FUN!) or getting homework that was left in reach (yeah
so Evey and Paris may not have the "my dog ate my homework"
excuse- Homework is not Orion's favorite snack, hehe. But they
 can tell their teacher that their sister ate their homework, she thinks
homework is a great afternoon snack!)

Caught!! (pay no attention to the messy pantry!!)

This is her "but- you -love -me- because- I'm -so- cute" face.
 She throws her head back and grins....BRAT!

She's just hungry!!! Geez ma!

Bananas will do.....for now.

Winter has a...daily is not the word, because it happens a million
times a day, so I guess it's an at least hourly.....chore of messing
up everything possible. She goes around the house and I can
follow her path of destruction. So i'll pick it all up, or have my
awesome Lex helper help me. and then not 3 minutes later it's
ALL out again.

First she goes for her basket of little toys.
She knocks it over and spreads them out either with her hand
or by kicking them everywhere.
Maybe it's funny to see me looking under
all the furniture when picking it up.

If there happens to be something on the coffee table,
which there usually is, she'll find it and spread it out too.

Her next stop is DVDs, Blu rays, Wii games and controllers.
Most of the movies are in cabinets that haven't interested her yet-
unless it's open- but the Christmas movies reside in little red boxes
that are perfect for making a mess.
Wii games and controllers are also in boxes that must be dumped.
She then heads to Lex's room where puzzles, cars and more video
games are spread out before moving on to the girl's room where there
are any number of wonderful things to mess up. I generally catch her
by this time and do my rounds of clean up.

She love to be in the kitchen too and has obviously started
getting into cabinets ( yes I locked up the chemicals!)

So I made her her own drawer, which for the most part
does it's job of something to pull out instead of
dishes that I have to then wash before use

Whew! It was empty this time! usually if she makes it to
the water we have to have a bath,
sometimes she ends up having 2 or 3 a day!

She likes to "help" fold clothes.  She is actually
my sand in the hourglass.
I have to try to get the load folded before
Wynn can throw it all on the floor.
It's a race. 

Winter loves Lambert. She makes her kissing noise for him when
he is near. And he is so sweet and good with her. We have been
helping her pet him gently, and she's caught on pretty well. She's
pretty soft when she pets him on her own, at least soft enough that
he doesn't run away....

wait, he can sense danger....

Ah, yes, I would run from that wicked face too. 

Even though Winter keeps us on our toes.....
How could we not love something so beautiful???

She has such an amazing personality! She is so
bright and funny and fiery and you can see the light in her eyes.
Ah, her eyes, so expressive and beautiful !!
She fits just perfectly into our family

Oh one last thing to tell, she is starting
to walk on her own!! Just a few steps.
She'll take about 4 before she lets herself fall
into my arms. She's been doing it a lot,
those 4 steps, but if I move any further away,
she won't do it. So, she is not an official walker yet,
but it's right around the corner!! Evey took a video
 one time on her phone, but it was right after bath
time and she is "nakey" so I will get a video as soon
 as she gets a little better

Girls Just wanna have fun

Winter turns 7 months tomorrow...

Bring it on!

Ready to Run

Little miss Winter can hardly wait to keep up with

her brother and sisters.

As soon as we returned from New York, which put

her at just under 5 1/2 months, she decided it was

time to sit all by her onesies and army crawl all over

the house. It's been fun to watch her get around on her

own. Her favorite toys to find are Little People animals,

Princess toys, old cell phones (she'd actually rather have

a working one) and remotes. She likes to taste EVERYTHING

she finds, which keeps me on top of picking up anything left

behind by the other kids, ie; stray Legos

and Barbie shoes, you get the picture.

At her 6 month check up on the 19th of July she was 26 1/2

inches and 15lbs 6 oz. Which makes her my tallest child at

this age, and skinniest girl. I know I've said it already, but

I just love seeing the differences in all of them. So the

doctor was right in his prediction that she would be

crawling at 6 months. Nobody else crawled until around 9

months. Lex was also an army crawler. Her new thing for

this month is her want to stand everywhere. When I try to

sit her down on the floor she straightens her body because

she would rather stand. She loves to stand against the

coffee table or couch and actually started pulling herself up

from sitting. I guess she just didn't want to be a baby for too long.

Her other new development is two sharp little teeth.

This is also much sooner than her siblings. She loves to

stick my finger in her mouth and try to saw it off. Nursing

hasn't been too painful yet, I'd like to keep it that way!

Winter has such a funny little personality. She looks at

you and you know she wants to say something. She has

started mimicking, which is just too cute. I'll shake my

head back and forth and then she'll do it too. She

mimics a few noises too, including an inhaling/gasping

noise and kisses. She is such a cute kisser and loves to

give them, especially to her reflection. But, if Jon or I

ask her for a kiss she'll click her tongue tomake the the

sound and then open her mouth and lean toward us.

Love it!

As I sit here at the computer, she crawls over and gets

under the desk, and is generally occupied for a few

minutes, but then her new favorite spot is right on top

of the desk giving whatever pictures I'm editing kisses

and dumping out the contents of the container of writing

utensils. She also loves music and hums along with

whatever anyone is singing, or playing (violin, piano,etc.)

When I sit down to play the piano, I sit her in her high chair

next to me and she has a blast accompanying the songs I play.

Winter has been so much fun and we can't wait for her to start

walking and running around after her siblings, I'm not so sure

they will love that idea though...

Too Fast!!

Here I am again trying to catch-up on everything again.

These pictures were all taken on May 27.

Okay Just kidding, that last one is of Lex. It's one of my favorites.

But when I was loading these I thought this next one of Winter

looked very similar. You can definitely tell they're siblings!

At Winter's 4 month check-up, she weighed 13 lbs 3 1/2 ozs.

and was 25 inches. She is long and skinny, like Lex. There is

actually only an ounce and a half difference from when he

was 4 mo. She is heavier. Paris was 10 oz chunkier and 3/4

of an inch shorter and Evey was a whole pound heavier and

3 inches shorter. This is why Evey was so round and rolly.

So cute either way!!

Winter, however, has developed physically faster than anyone

else. She has put rolling both ways in the past! At 4 months

she is trying her hardest to crawl!!! WHAT! The Doc says he

thinks she will be crawling by her 6 mo check-up.... I have

an up date on this development, but am not going to share

until I get that far in posting pictures!! Stay tuned!

We still had to make sure we were close and she still had
